Eight to ten times a year, we travel to Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina to hand-select the finest live edge slabs and hardwood lumber. Preparing the Slabs Once the slabs arrive at our workshop, they undergo a critical phase of kiln drying. This process is essential for removing excess moisture, which helps prevent warping and cracking in the wood. After drying, the slabs are stored in a controlled environment to maintain their integrity until they are ready for further processing.
